Introduction

Road Cut exposures in the fossiliferous Glen Rose formation in the area Southwest of Fort Worth. Additional exposures well to the South around Johnson City.

ammonites, bivalves, gastropods, algae, worm tubes, echinoids, forams

Geology

Formations (youngest first)

Fredricksburg Formation (Lower Cretaceous) Glen Rose Limestone (Lower Cretaceous) fossiliferous limestones and chalks Trinity sands (Lower Cretaceous)

Note that the upper beds are thought to be deeper water deposits than the lower beds.
